Web development is the process of taking a website or web application from idea to finished, live product via design, programming, testing, and ongoing maintenance. A design framework emerges from that groundwork, illustrated in a wireframes and site map—that is eventually used to outline how the entire content and pages of the site will be structured.Once the plan is signed off, you have the visual design process that translates those sketches to branded mockups, using colors, typography, icons, and images that invoke the organization’s visual identity while also providing an intuitive user experience. This design is then rendered into coding—front-end development creates builds the interface, using technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (to create a responsive and interactive experience), and back-end development creates the server-side logic, database, and connects applications, using frameworks and programming languages such as Python, Node.js or PHP.
